Super Science Day

Presentation (all day)

An all day "make it - take it" ocean workshop for everyone in your school. Guided by Ken Watson, children will be led through their ocean exploration by parent or school volunteers. Children will create fish prints, ocean sand paintings, cheerio sea stars, classification activities, shell prints, coordinate muralometry and more. Teachers will be provided with background information and detailed write-ups on activities.

Tailored to your wants and needs. Let Ken reinforce your California State Science Standards using the ocean as a tool. From food chains to ocean geology, squid dissections to live tidepool animals, we will explore the ocean realm that fits your needs. This can be a hands-on or lecture-and-slide experience. We can even investigate the ocean through ocean songs and poetry. Your ocean options are endless!

Teacher Workshop

Workshop

This is a workshop for teachers. Along with the instruction, you will be jumping into art projects, such as fish printing and sand painting, and science activities, perhaps a squid dissection or plate techtonics presentation, to reinforce your marine science knowledge. After the day is over, Ken will leave a notebook outlining the information presented, write-ups on the activities done in the class, a bibliography of ocean resources (including books, DVDs, and websites) and access to all of his LifeSong CDs, books, and musicals.
